Day 7, Week 3

Today began with a nice brisk walk around Willen lake with the 'in-laws'. The kids came with us and had a nice time too.

I read with great interest about maxconsole being threatened by an advertiser to remove a low scoring review of one of its product, Kudos to MaxConsole.net for telling them where to go.

Day 4, Week 3

Took a shorter walk today due to other members of staff where I work complaining about the extra 5 minutes I had for my lunch break...jeez.

I wasn't quite as cold as monday which was nice.

As I said yesterday I found a new product from Nokia called viNe but upon testing I found out that its incompatible with the original N95. Bugger... Now im even more desperate for the 5800 to be released in the UK, as of today Nokia have started shipping to Hong kong, Finland and other countries.

Day 3, Week 3

The run seemed easy today, which was nice, It may have been because my legs wernt so tired or maybe just because there was very little wind.

I've been using a thing called sportstracker on my Nokia N95 to track my runs but have just found a new product from nokia called viNe which I intend to try soon. It allows for geotagging of Videos and music thats being played too, ahtough I must admit I don't use my N95 to play my music when running as the wires get on my nerves.

Day 2, Week 3

Phew, I took a nice 3 and a bit mile walk at lunch time with Andy, the wind almost blew us off our feet but it was a fun walk.

also managed to do another hour on the wii-fit this evening. According to the wii-fit I've lost 9 Lbs since I started my training. (started at 17st 1lbs, am now 16st 6lbs) so I'm starting to see some benefits already, still can't fit into my old jeans though :)

I just read a review on the upcoming 5800 from Nokia, I do hope they release it soon!

I also hope that you'll sponsor me here

Day 1, Week 3.

After a really long walk on Saturday I thought I might struggle with Todays run but it went well.

The wind outside is really powerful but luckily for the second half of the run it was behind me so helped me get back to the office :)

This week is a harder pace than last week although the distance and the actual time running hasn't increased. which sounds strange but it makes sense to me.

Day 4, Week 2

No running today but took a nice hour and 7 minute long walk.

http://sportstracker.nokia.com/nts/workoutdetail/index.do?id=533059

Andy and I managed to cover 7.6KM in that time and my legs felt pretty stiff afterwards.

Finished the night off with an hour on the wii-fit and a nice soak in the bath.

On the food side I have been good as gold, I have not snacked at all since my training started and have cut down on portion size of all my meals.

Thanks to Mum today for a delicious chilli-con-carne!

Day 3, Week 2

today was a good run. Managed to do the full program and ran/walked the 2 miles without any major problems. I then spent another hour on the wii-fit. I've got quite a good routine going now. I do steps,boxing,hula-hoops,football,torso twists and then some jackknifes. And then i repeat it again.

A huge thanks to my cousin Kay and also to Pat for the kind and generous sponsors. You are both superstars!

Day 2, Week2...

Today I took a gentle stroll round the lake, just to keep my legs warm and stretched. it was a nice 2 mile walk and took about 30 minutes.

I also signed up today for a 25 mile walk in December, I'm not 100% sure if its a good idea with my running training but oh well :)

Also did an hour on the wii-fit, Some people rubbish this thing but I have to say that an hour of sweating my nuts off and not sitting on the couch has just got to be good for me :)

First day of the second week...

Today marks the first day of the second week of training. I am following the couch to 5k plan originally put together by coolrunning.com but put together with music and spoken timings by a great guy called Robert Ullrey

The podcasts he has put together make it much easier to follow timings and removes the burden of "clockwatching" whilst running.

Anyway today I managed the run without much difficulty, which I am very glad of. I will be repeating it on Wednesday and Friday then a tougher week will begine on Monday.

Todays run details are:
Start time 17.11.08 12:00
Duration
29min 3s
Distance
3.71 km
Speed (average) 7.65 km/h

More of the run I did can be found here

Thank you to Frances and Andy for their generous sponsorships, please sponsor me too!

Bupa London 10000

Hi All,

In an attempt to get back to being healthy and to do a little good in the world I have decided to commit to running in the Bupa London 10000 race in May 2009.

10KM may not sound like much to many but as of this moment I weigh over 17 stone and can barely run 1KM without turning so blue even Bernard Manning would blush.

I intend to update this blog with my efforts everyday with how I'm progressing towards my goal of running this race in under an hour.

In the mean time please visit my sponsor ship page and donate a few quid for the macmillon cancer support charity.
